Beautiful Lessons
“Now that everyone is gathered, we will begin our lesson,” Kaorin said running a hand through her black hair. Her skin was a slightly tanned caramel where she wasn't covered in dark blue scales. Running a finger along her evident jawline, Kaorin walked alongside the main table of the long hall. Her lean, sensuous form was only highlighted by the blue dress that clung to her. This drew every set of the countless eyes in the room to her. Extending a hand of black painted nails she asked, “Would you be so kind as to handle the visual part of the lesson, Renneth?”
“Of course, my dear,” Replied Renneth as she stepped onto the table to bring their heights more in line due to being so much shorter. Each of her long strides strained the fabric of her black dress while highlighting her more curved figure. Renneth's own hair had red on the tips yet was just the same oily black of her partner. Raising her silken gloved palm towards the roof, an image of a several orbs hovered around the room with a large one in the middle.
Taking a seat on the table with her long legs crossed Kaorin began, “Due to the upcoming job being a demon hunt, I will be teaching you about our enemies. Some of you may be aware but there is a lot of confusion regarding the word 'demon'. It gets thrown around a lot. When we of the Blue Phoenix company use it, we do so in only one regard; That the person we use it for is a servant, ruler or ally of the Abyss, or Hell.”
“The abyss is several kingdoms that work under the 'Lord of Hell', Lucifer. He lives here.” The other orbs vanished as the central orb expanded. Icy tundras expanded with arms and corpses protruding from the surface. Renneth sighed, “The realm is known as Cocytus. You'll also notice that this domain is also in the center. It is the deepest place of Hell so if one should encounter a servant of Lucifer's, they are the most difficult to drive back. Lucifer's minions are easily marked since he only employs his brethren with black wings and they all bear his mark.”
The orb shifted and lost texture as a serpent was wrapped around it. Kaorin sighed, “If you encounter any sort of enemy with that mark on them, do not engage. Retreat and wait for one of the Phoenix's shadow or the Commander himself without question. However, this is extremely unlikely to happen as Lucifer is preoccupied with the maintaining his rule.”
“Another exception to most demons will be the servants of Mephistopheles.” The symbol shifted to the crest with a scythe over a piece of parchment. Kaorin let out a sigh before continuing, “These are generally your minor annoyances that aren't so much lethal as are out to make people miserable. Worse yet, killing servants of Mephistopheles is pointless since they'll just be thrown right back. The best solution is to identify their method of arrival and block it or place a blessing around the affected area. That will keep them out since they're not powerful enough to step through anything sacred.”
“Now, we move onto the more common threats you'll encounter, especially in our line of work. That will be the servants of Astaroth and Astarte.” Renneth closed her hand so the image vanished, “They're the Satan of wrath and their servants prowl areas of conflict. As such, fighting them directly is a poor idea if you can't overwhelm what strength they have. Whenever possible, seek to cripple them with whatever methods you have on hand. If not, tire them out. Like their association, Anger, they're quick to burn themselves out.”
“If you have the skills, banishment and then putting the souls of the dead at peace will weaken or prevent the demons from appearing. This is a universal weakness all demons share so Necromancy's ability to release souls is often a good countermeasure,” Kaorin's lips widened to reveal her fang and gums that held them in place. Her gaze ran over all the eyes in the room as she added, “Though, if you cannot defeat them outright nor after weakening them, there is the universal option for all demons. That is this; If you can find the one who summoned them or the terms of their contract then you can cause the task to be impossible. Once that is done, the Demon will turn on their summoner in an attempt to claim their soul before they're drawn back into the abyss. This method is far more intensive and dangerous so it should be a last resort.”
Renneth let out a long sigh before opening her palm once more. The Orbs returned only to have all but two vanish. One was green with vegetation while the other seemed to be riddled with patches of darkness dotted with pinpricks of light. Pulling back her shoulders, Renneth continued, “These are the domains of two Satans who are often found working together. They are Lilith and Sariel; the Satans of Lust and Greed respectively.”
“I'm sure you know all about Lilith!” A voice called out from the back. Instantly, her gloved hands became a fist. With as strides as quick as her dress would allow, Renneth stomped off the table and towards the speaker. The students quickly slid their chairs back out of her way as she stepped over to an oversized man bristling with muscles. Snorting, the man asked, “What are you so upset for? You're a succubus, isn't Lilith supposed to be your Queen or something?”
Flashing the man a soft, playful smile Renneth then ran a finger up from the man's stomach to his chest. The man's eyes widened and bulged outwards and he reached for his throat. Thrashing violently, Renneth took a step back to turn to the rest of the room, her words spoken with a cold venom, “You will all understand this. Lilith never has been, nor will be a 'Queen' or anything else to us Succubus. Those she's corrupted are demon filth and deserve to rot in the abyss for their betrayal. If you bring us ten of those Hellborn bitch's heads, you will earn a free night at the Dragon's Bloom with a partner of your choice. Do you understand?”
“Yes ma'am!” Came every voice in the room.
“Louder.”
“Yes ma'am!”
Renneth snapped her fingers and the struggling man fell limp, gasping for air. Kaorin simply offered a hand to assist Renneth back onto the table so the lesson could continue, “Sariel and Lilith's servants tend to be the subtler ones so if the demons are not readily apparent, very likely you're dealing with one or the other's. Due to their respective associated sins, it's easy to tell who you're dealing with. Sariel is the Banker and scientist of the Abyss. So if people and valuables are missing, those demons are easily baited out and gotten rid of. Lilith's agents prefer intrigue and guile so if a mysterious new noble, bard or major political figure appears out of nowhere and starts charming everyone, it's probably one of those demons.”
A bell rung out, silencing the class. Every student in the room rose to stand until Kaorin clapped her hands to get their attention. With a smile she said simply, “We'll adjourn for dinner and then come right back. We'll finish up how to handle those demons and finish up with the rest. So don't dawdle!” A quick rush of bodies hurried out of the hall, followed by the two teachers.
“Now, now. Everyone settle down!” Renneth announced as she ascended back onto the table. Her ample hips swayed with every long stride she made. The students of Dracell, Elven, Tiyari and varied other races all directed their attention to the succubus that stood in the middle of the hall. Ensuring all attention was on her, Renneth nodded, “All right. Let's take a quick reminder. Who can tell me what Satan is most commonly involved in military conflicts and a method to counteract their presence?”
A man with graying hair amidst his brown tresses coughed politely. He spoke with a faint rasp to his voice, “That was Astaroth, I believe. I think you said that you should cripple 'em and let 'em burn out.”
“Excellent, Tyfer.” Kaorin applauded, “Now, can anyone else tell me what to do should you encounter a Fallen angel who identifies themselves as a follower of Lucifer?”
Rising from a seat to his full height was a blue skinned Oni with a pair of horns protruding from the sides of his head. Both horns were aimed toward the back of his own skull. His voice was surprisingly soft for his eleven foot body, “To fall back and call for the Shadow Phoenix division.”
“Good answer Subei.” Kaorin smiled, “Now, we were talking about how to banish the demons of Greed and Lust. In truth, identifying them is the hard part since they tend to draw other sycophants and petty sorts so they blend in. However, this is to cover for the fact that they tend to be physically weak. Meaning, in a worst case scenario, killing everyone in the room could work to banish them. Just understand that if you do so, the Company will not be responsible for any repercussions you incur with the locals.”
“In other words, don't do that.” Renneth winked to the crowd before reaching between her breasts to reveal a small vial in the shape of a heart. Holding it up, she explained, “This is a bottle of holy water created by our Commander, himself. It is only dangerous to a demon or a person with a demonic pact. To someone without one...” She took a quick sip and bowed, “It is as harmless as seawater. To a demon though.” Kaorin snapped her fingers and a figure began to shuffle into the center of the room.
Unsteady legs carried an elf in an elegant suit. Everyone in the crowd quickly gave the figure reeking of strong chemicals a wide berth. In an extended arm it carried an iron cage with a shriveled creature inside. Its beady, black eyes sat over an overly long nose and it hissed behind yellowed teeth. Kaorin took the cage as the corpse departed with its unsteady gait. Holding up the cage to Renneth, she tipped the bottle so only a single drop slipped out.
Despite its best attempts, the caged imp was touched by the water and it let out a deafening scream. It's flesh cooked before losing all cohesion. Melting into a puddle of green liquid, it dripped out of the cage. Renneth added two more drops and the imp's remains fizzled into smoke. With a grin she added, “Any holy water will do but the stronger the one who makes it, the more powerful the water is. Though, any strength will be enough to identify the demon. Once you know who it is, it won't be hard to isolate and eliminate them. Just be prepared for a fight, demons always are.”
“Now, another pair who keep the wheels of the abyss moving are the Satans of Envy and Gluttony. They are Samael and Beelzebub. That being said, the pair couldn't be more different despite being two of the biggest 'managers' of their economic and political power,” Kaorin explained as Renneth raised her palm once more. Two figures manifested with an Angel with stubby, gray wings stood next to an insect-like creature. It stood on four legs like a mantis with two claw-like hands extended from its chest. The Angel was dressed in black vestments with red fringe that Kaorin indicated, “This is Samael, Satan of Envy. His servants will only ever leave the abyss on a specific form of contract. That is, to bring ruin to the fortunate.”
“Jealousy is a powerful motivator and Samael's servants are loathe to do their own dirty work so they'll often corrupt others into doing the work for them. This means hunting down a demon like this is usually a lot of work.” Renneth warned, “However, if you are on a job to protect someone, then offense is going to be your best defense. Remember, their job will only be to ruin their target's quality of life so if you trace the problems with their income, you'll usually find the Demon not too far. After all, they don't actually trust anyone to do what they want. However, unlike Lilith or Sariel's servants, these ones are more than capable in a fight.”
Kaorin let out a sigh before indicating the insect with one finger. Her voice became terse, “Now, to his opposite is Beelzebub, also known as the Lord of Bugs. Typically, Beelzebub is summoned when a contract is failed and a mess needs to be cleaned up. They'll set up a nest and devour any signs of their presence. This is the type of contract you all have agreed to. Expect bugs of any kind and squash them. There is no subtlety to Beelzebub or its subjects. They just exist to consume and breed. Fire, Holy Water and Hammer are going to be your best friends on this extermination. Show no mercy and follow your commanding officer's orders to clear out the nest. Got it?”
“Yes Ma'am!” The entire room roared back in unison.
“Dismissed!” Renneth announced.
“Wait,” Subei called out causing everyone to groan, “We forgot one. Didn't we?”
“Oh! Right!” Kaorin gasped, “Sorry, everyone sit down.” Several objects bounced off Subei as the others muttered curses towards him. With a giggle Kaorin began to explain, “When you encounter a Demon of Belial, Satan of sloth, let them sleep. Mark their position down and let your commander know. If they happen to be moving, simply step out of the way, you'll have plenty of time to do so. Technically, these demons act as relays Mephistopheles' servants so banishing one will settle any trouble in the future. Otherwise, they're unsurprisingly lazy and no major threat on their own. That's all. Now you all may go.”
The hall quickly emptied with the pair of Teachers being some of the first ones out. Renneth did her best to keep up with the long strides of Kaorin. Heading along the paved main road, she turned into a building with many yellow petals streaked with orange. A man and woman in silken nightwear greeted her but were ignored by the pair. Passing through the main area, people engaged in various carnal acts or flirtation were plentiful. Kaorin hurried towards a door at the back.
Renneth followed her inside and shut the door. Kaorin stretched her arms behind her to reach the threads that held her dress in place. Glaring at Renneth, she demanded, “Get me out of this dress before I cut it to shreds.”
“Aw, my love, that'd be such a waste! It looks so good on you,” Renneth's voice was silken smooth.
“NOW!” Kaorin gave a roar justifying her Draconic heritage. Stepping over the shattered remains of a fallen lamp that had been illuminating the room, Renneth's fingers untangled the mass of string that held the dress in place. Quickly becoming a heap of discarded cloth at her feet, Kaorin took in a deep breath. Her bare flesh and scales visible.
Renneth let out a hungry murmur as her hands landed on Kaorin's thighs. Her soft fingers traced the curve of Kaorin's hips to her flat stomach. Grazing the underside of her firm breasts Renneth whispered, “You've won our little bet and did a lesson in a corset. So, now, my body and skills are at your utter disposal. You are my mistress for one night. What would you have your eager slave do for you?”
Kaorin turn around in Renneth's embrace so the hands now held onto her muscular back while letting her chest graze the succubus' lips. With her large hand, she tipped Renneth's head back and leaned down to kiss her exposed throat. With a grin, Kaorin spoke in a whisper, “Uk'Shiu and I are having a bit of a competition ourselves. He will ask you for servers for his night and you are to provide him with whomever you please. But, you will be on hand yourself for my night. Do you understand?”
Kaorin's powerful fingers forced apart Renneth's legs and lifted her easily from her heeled shoes. Renneth shuddered under the strength and heat she felt even through her own dress. Kaorin's voice never rose above a whisper as she instructed, “And, you shall be forbidden from entertaining yourself or using another until that night. I shall know if you do and if you do, I shall be required to reprimand you.” Her pale lips became a smile as she added, “Deeply.”
“Y-yes, mistress.” Renneth spoke through trembling breaths before being lowered back onto the floor. Turning on her heel, Kaorin walked towards the door. Renneth gasped, “When will you need me?”
“In two days.” Kaorin flashed a coy smile, “Come to my mansion then. And remember, I want you nearly feral by the time you arrive.” Her hips swayed with every step as Kaorin departed in the nude, letting all look upon her as she left. Renneth fell onto her chambers bed with one hand clutching another. She rolled side to side, the anticipation writhing in her mind like a viper's nest.
Biting her lip, Renneth then giggled to herself, “When did these Dragons learn to do this to me? It's so fun!”
“Of course, my dear,” Replied Renneth as she stepped onto the table to bring their heights more in line due to being so much shorter.
